Universal Basic Income.
We recognize that, in our capitalists societies, the strong incentive to be productive members is the main factor of innovation. Although, the system faces two main issues :
- The incapacity of the market to value contributions of some members to society, probably because their benefits is not instantaneously measurable and/or unquantifiable (for example, parents, artists, philosophers, community servants, social-healthcare professionals, educators and teachers, etc.).
- The innovation capitalism is guided by, leading to more and more cost-efficiency, tending to (rightly so) remove inefficient jobs, replacing them by automatized machines that work better, faster, longer and at roughly no cost (for example, cryptocurrencies could destroy the majority of jobs in banking/money industry, self-driving the same for transportation industry, automation in agriculture, 3D printers for manufacturing and even construction, etc.).
For these reasons, we should institute a Universal Basic Income (UBI). The amount of this UBI should be calculated smartly depending on the economy, in order to never disincentivize higher productivity of our society, while highly increasing global quality of live. It could also be conditional in order to incentivize good things, for example given only to those who got a basic education degree or are studying for, or to those, if they don’t have a stable work, who make them available for unskilled but essential jobs if needed (like garbage collector, fireman assistant, seasonal farmers assistants, etc.).
